The group has not missed a weekend's golf in all this time which might indicate a degree of seriousness about what we do but in fact it’s all for fun. The only rule to qualify is you must be able to stand up unaided on the first tee box ready to play. Membership is mostly expatriate with the exception of Indonesian wives. Membership fluctuates but there is no obligation to play every week. A typical group is 16 to 30 players which guarantees playing within different groups every week. A tee time is scheduled every Sunday and we try different courses all around Jakarta. The last Sunday of the month we return to our home course of Pangkalan Jati in South Jakarta. The Society boasts levels of expertise starting with those new to the game all the way through to single digit handicappers. Handicaps are maintained via the American PGA system and you can submit your cards from any other game outside Tee Set to ensure your handicap is kept up to date. The group is chaired by a Committee elected every year. This Committee organizes the matches and tournaments. We provide achievement awards (small cash prize) every week for various golf feats, including Low Gross, Low Net, 1st Birdie, 1st Sandy Par, Most Improved, to name a few. A weekly newsletter that documents the previous week's match and announces the next one is circulated by email. Sunday outings can also be located on the web page and one can register for newsletters on the site as well. Hope to see you on the course soon.
