Membership

Membership to the British Women’s Association is open to all nationalities. The BWA offers their members:

  • Monthly Grapevine newsletter
  • Monthly events calendar with dates and times of all activities
  • Staff Referral Services - Monthly Staff List distributed by email to members
  • Annual membership directory
  • Regular emails updating members on upcoming events within the BWA as well as The Loyal Societies – Java St. Andrew, St. Patrick’s, St. George’s and St. David’s Societies.
  • Newcomers coffee mornings and regular activities specifically planned for newcomers. Newcomers also receive an informational bag which includes everything you need to know about living in Jakarta.
  • Monthly and weekly coffee mornings with a range of food available from coffee and cakes, through to light snacks and a lunch menu.
  • BWA Shop
  • Library for adults and children.
  • Weekly activities include pilates, Book Lovers lunch, Mah Jong, Scottish country dancing for adults and children, Irish country dancing, So n’ Sew craft group, tennis, salsacise, mothers and toddlers group, canasta, and a weekly golf group.
  • Regular events include annual BWA fashion show, bi-annual bazaars, monthly quiz nights, social evenings, Christmas Family Fun Day, and Christmas lunch.
  • Social welfare group: a team of members who oversee designated charities which include orphanages, education, nutritional & feeding programmes and disaster relief funds.
  • Support BWA charities by renting baby equipment such as travel cots, car seats, high chairs and wheelchairs.
