Membership

Membership to the British Women’s Association is open to ladies of all nationalities. The BWA offers members:

  • Monthly Grapevine newsletter: a 48-page colour publication.
  • Staff Referral Services – Staff lists are accessible by download from a private members web page.
  • Annual membership directory.
  • Regular eNEWS advising members about upcoming events from the BWA, The Loyal Societies – Java St. Andrew, St. Patrick’s, St. George’s and St. David’s Societies - and other organisations.
  • Newcomers’ coffee mornings and regular activities specifically planned for newcomers. Newcomers also receive a welcome pack, which includes useful information for living in Jakarta.
  • Monthly coffee morning (first Monday of every month) with speakers, vendors, raffle and door prizes. Tea, coffee and snacks are served.
  • Weekly Monday coffee morning to meet and chat over coffee or lunch.
  • A café menu with a range of food from coffee and cakes, through to light snacks and lunch dishes.
  • Free WiFi
  • BWA Library for adults and children.
  • Weekly activities include: Bahasa Indonesian Class, Canasta, Choir, Fitness Classes, Golf, Jewellery Class, Mahjong, Playgroup for mothers & children (babies to pre-school age), Scottish Country Dancing (for adults and children) and Tennis.
  • Regular events include the annual BWA Charity Fashion Show, bi-annual Bazaars, bi-annual Charity Golf Tournaments, monthly Quiz Nights, social evenings, Christmas family events and members’ Christmas lunch.
  • Social Welfare: a team of members oversee designated charities which include orphanages, education, nutritional & feeding programmes and disaster relief funds.
  • Equipment Rental: various baby equipment, wheelchairs, party supplies for private events: tables, chairs, chair tiebacks, catering dishes and other items.
  • BWA Classifieds Service: A members only service for those wishing to advertise items for sale.
  • FLC Clothing Alterations & Tailoring provide services from BWA House the first and second Monday of every month.
