How many times have we heard it said ... "I said at Kem Chicks that ..." or "I saw on the American Club notice board that ..."? Countless times. That's because long before we all had telephones and long before the internet, expat community bulletin boards around Jakarta served a vital purpose in getting the message out to the community for events, garage sales, people looking for drivers, etc. So ... we did an informal survey ... and here are some of the most favored and checked-out expat community bulletin boards in town.
Please let us know if you know of the location of other good community bulletin boards, so we can share them with everyone! Just a word of caution, advertisements for domestic help who supposedly come with good references from previous expat employers ... check out their references very carefully, just to be on the safe side! There are many fake reference letters floating around. |
