The ASEAN Women’s Circle of Jakarta (AWC) was established on 8 August 1975 by Madame Nelly Adam Malik, wife of the then Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, together with the wives of the ASEAN Ambassadors in Indonesia and other women officials in the Department of Foreign Affairs in Indonesia.

The purpose and objectives of the AWC are to promote mutual understanding and cooperation among our members as well as to acquaint them and the general public with the values and aims of ASEAN. AWC promotes ASEAN solidarity and friendship through various social-cultural and other related activities.
