Learning a new language at Berlitz! The original founding principles remain the core of the Berlitz Method today: focus on conversation first with maximum student participation, speak only the language being taught, present objects and actions in a building-block approach, teach grammar by example and visual demonstration, employ native-fluent instructors and make corrections in a positive way to build students’ confidence. The IALF - through its three language centres - offers a range of English and Indonesian language training courses. All centres are accredited IELTS test centres. IALF Bali is an accredited provider of the Trinity College Certificate in TESOL, an internationally-recognised qualification for those wishing to teach English to speakers of other languages.

Indonesian language training: The IALF offers a comprehensive program in Bahasa Indonesia from beginner to advanced level. With over 15 years experience in the teaching of Bahasa Indonesia to expatriates, through centres in Jakarta, Surabaya and Denpasar, the program is aimed at those who are serious about learning to communicate in Bahasa Indonesia.

There are four options at IALF Jakarta for studying Indonesian: an intensive two week course, Monday to Friday, 8:00 - 15:00 (Beginners only); a five-week semi-intensive course, Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10:00 - 12:00 (Beginners only); a ten-week course in the evening program, Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday 18:00 - 19:30 (various levels); one-to-one tuition on an agreed schedule. Known as Jakarta’s “Bahasa Indonesia School,” Language Studies Indonesia is the capital’s leading language training organisation devoted solely to the study of Bahasa Indonesia - the Indonesian language. In the past, many Jakarta expatriates seeking Bahasa Indonesia training have had to settle for informal and inconsistent instruction through private individuals or English-language schools offering less-institutionalised courses in Bahasa Indonesia. LSI was founded by a consortium of Indonesian and Canadian educators and teachers for the exclusive purpose of introducing an international standard to Indonesian language education in Jakarta.

LSI offers six Bahasa Indonesia courses, designed to serve every level of competency - from Beginner to Advanced.
