Young Diplomats Club (YDC)

Membership in the Young Diplomats Club

Membership is open to men and women of all nationalities who work in the diplomatic service of their country as well as their professional colleagues. There are no membership fees.

Membership entitles a person to:

  • attend regular gatherings of the Young Diplomats Club, which are sponsored by Bir Bintang, and hosted at a rotating venue in Jakarta, mostly in restaurants, clubs and hotels
  • be afforded the opportunity of networking on an informal basis with members of the diplomatic corps and professionals from across the political and economic spectrum
Most activities are held in English (with some bahasa Indonesia)

About the Young Diplomats Club

The Young Diplomats Club (YDC) is an informal gathering of diplomats and professionals, which is co-sponsored by PT. Multi Bintang, the makers of Bintang beer. The gatherings, held at least twice a month, rotate to different venues around Jakarta, during which free beer from Bintang is served for a specified period of two hours. The respective venue also hosts guests to a buffet style meal. The main objective of the YDC is to afford intelligentsia in Jakarta the opportunity to meet up with the diplomatic corps in a relaxed, informal environment, so as to increase the contact-building network.

The YDC also offers restaurants/ clubs/ hotels in Jakarta the opportunity of marketing their facilities, by hosting one of the regular gatherings.

Regular monthly meetings are held:

DATES: The first and third Thursdays of every month
LOCATION: A rotating venue
TIME: 18h00 - 20h00
COST: Free up till 20h00, after which beer has to be paid for
