Membership in the Surabaya Wine Society

Membership is open to men and women of all nationalities. Current number of members - 120. The lifetime membership fee is Rp 400,000. Membership entitles you to buy wine directly from SWS and pay Rp 50,000 less than a non-member at the wine tasting events. Most activities are held in English.

Purpose & Benefits of the Surabaya Wine Society:

  • To increase members' knowledge, appreciation and enjoyment of wines and spirits, particularly those available in Indonesia.
  • To encourage and strengthen the relationship (especially concerning wine) between all foreign nationals resident in Surabaya and our Indonesian hosts.
  • To hold wine tasting evenings in first class venues. Where possible the wine tasting evenings will be held every 2 months. Each function will be led by top wine experts who will give their professional appraisals of the evening's wines.
  • Members will be given an opportunity to buy wines at special discounted prices at wine tasting events.

The wine tastings events are held at differing five-star hotels and restaurants in Surabaya. These evenings consist of a set dinner with wines. Each evening showcases wines of a particular country or region, e.g. France, Australia, Italy, Chile, New Zealand, Spain and Portugal, Germany or South Africa. The wine tasting events offer a superb evening of fine food and wine and a chance to meet a wide cross-section of Surabayan society.
