Membership

Membership in the Jakarta Players is open to children, teens and adults of all nationalities (expat and Indonesian!). There are currently over 300 members. Cost of membership is free!

Membership entitles a person to receive the monthly emailed newsletter and to come to the monthly drama night, where members can socialize or be entertained with theatre games and other fun activities. Most activities are conducted in English.

Newcomers to Jakarta are welcome to join the Jakarta Players. No theatre experience is necessary. Prospective members are invited to attend a JP Drama Night, where they can meet current members and join, or they can contact one of the officers listed below.

Members are encouraged, but not necessarily expected, to get involved in some way in JP activities. No experience is required to help with any of the productions. Many members choose to help backstage with sets, props, costumes, or hair and makeup. Experienced JP members train willing newcomers in the various roles necessary to make a production come alive on the stage. Members can choose learn the production side or the technical side, or audition for roles in upcoming productions.
