Expatriate Women's Association of Surabaya (EWAS)

Membership in EWAS:

Membership is open mainly to expatriate women or Indonesian wives of expats living in Surabaya. Current number of members – approximately 120. Cost of membership per year - Rp 300,000.

Membership entitles a person to attend the monthly EWAS meetings, receive the monthly newsletter, access into the Members Room Only page of the website, free entrance to monthly Coffee Mornings, plus other treats from various EWAS sponsors. All activities are conducted in English.

About EWAS:

EWAS is a non-profit organization which aims to:

  • Encourage fellowship and enhance the adjustment of women of various foreign nationalities residing in and around Surabaya.
  • Provide support for newcomers.
  • Provide information on culture, services and opportunities in East Java.
  • Contribute to the local community through charitable activities handled by the Social Welfare Committee.

Activities include:

  • Trips and Tours – exploring places of interest in and around Surabaya
  • Sports & Leisure – weekly activities like Tennis, Netball, Mah Jong, Play Group
  • Social Welfare - helping orphanages, improving school facilities, etc.
  • Others – fundraising activities for the Social Welfare Committee

Regular meetings are held monthly. Contact EWAS for details of the next meeting.
