Membership in the ASEAN Women's Circle of Jakarta

Membership is open to women from Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. Current number of members is 150. Cost of membership per year is Rp. 75.000.

Membership entitles a person to be involved in AWC's cultural program including sport events, seminars, culinary demonstrations, fashion shows, outings and Coffee Morning hosted jointly by AWC and 10 ASEAN country embassies in Jakarta. Members have a chance to build a relationship with the prominent ladies of ASEAN Embassies in Jakarta. Most activities are held in English.

About the ASEAN Women's Circle of Jakarta

AWC is a non profit organization consisting of members from 10 ASEAN member countries living in Jakarta. It was founded and established in 1975 by Madame Nelly Adam Malik (wife of former Indonesian Foreign Ministry) to promote mutual understanding and cooperation among ASEAN women, and acquaint its members and the general public of the high ideals and aims of the Association of Southeast Asian nations.

The Chief Patron is the wife of the Indonesian Foreign Minister. The Advisor is the wife of the ASEAN Secretary General and the wife of the Ambassadors of ASEAN countries in Jakarta act as Patrons.
